Find the joy of learning

We aim to create lessons where students can truly experience the joy of learning. By introducing the concept of 'enjoying learning' at an early stage, students will develop a proactive attitude towards their studies, even as they progress to junior high and high school, and expand their options to include extracurricular activities. They will cultivate a habit of dedicated learning, avoiding negligence in their studies. Through developing a self-directed learning routine, they will gain the confidence and strength necessary to achieve their future dreams.

Desire to go again

"Wanting to Do Fun Things Again and Again!" This applies to both adults and children. If studying and learning can be felt as enjoyable, the desire to return naturally emerges. By letting children experience small achievements and the excitement of accomplishing what they couldn't do before, we nurture their enthusiasm for learning.

Turning into a Routine

Through setting realistic goals and tailoring educational programs to individual needs, we instill the inherent joy of achieving those goals and establish a habit of learning. Making learning a habit becomes a pioneering step in fostering the ability to find solutions on their own when facing uncertainties and challenges in the future.

Features of Sakigake School

We have a partnership with Japanese learning institutes and offer a diverse range of educational materials. Initially, we conduct meetings with parents to confirm each child's individual goals, and based on that, we determine suitable learning materials and teaching approaches.

Introduction of the principal of Sakigake School

Fumi Higuchi

  • Child Care Worker Certification

  • Kindergarten Teacher Specialist License

  • Elementary School Teacher Specialist License

  • AMI Montessori 0-3 Orientation Certificate

"Background:

After graduating from Kobe Shinwa Women's University Graduate School, I came to the United States. I interned at an immersion education school in Portland, then pursued language studies before returning to Japan. I worked as a teacher at a Japanese public elementary school. Later, I came back to the U.S. after getting married. I taught at the Portland Japanese School and worked as a private tutoring instructor in Los Angeles before founding Sakigake school.

A Message from the Principal:

Throughout my teaching experience in Japan and my work as a tutoring instructor in Los Angeles, I encountered numerous children growing up and struggling in various environments, all of whom I had the privilege of meeting. Simultaneously, I also met parents who were grappling with concerns about providing the best educational environment for these children. It was with the desire to share the skills and experiences I had gained that I founded Sakigake school, hoping to be of service to all of you. We aim not only to teach the Japanese language but also to immerse students in the culture and traditions of Japan, fostering an environment of 'joyful learning.' I aspire to create moments together with the children, where they can experience the delight of accomplishing what they couldn't before and the satisfaction of understanding. Thank you for joining us on this journey.
